MOSES is organized to build an interfaith, multiracial, congregation-centered community organization that will address issues of concern to community residents and members of member congregations through a process of relationship building, training and leadership development, and direct action.
MOSES congregations cooperate as core teams, action clusters, a metropolitan organization, and in affiliation with other congregation-centered community organizations within the Gamaliel Foundation.
Our goal is to build and strengthen our member congregations and to empower these congregations to strengthen local communities to bring about beneficial systemic change.
Mission Statement
MOSES is a congregation-centered, faith-based community organization reflecting the religious, racial and ethnic diversity of Metropolitan Detroit.
MOSES is a vehicle by which congregations of faith come together to develop a network of relationships, to identify common interests, and to exercise power on behalf of those interests. Through MOSES we assert our religious principles in the public realm to improve the quality of life in our communities and to create a more just and humane society.
